Do you have antiques, collectables or memorabilia for sale that have a presentation plaque or ownership tag of any sort? Many dealers regard them as a blight on the price of an item. At DigiClerk we think we can add interest and value to that item.
Using the DigiClerk smartphone app the image is uploaded onto DigiClerk . The antiques, collectables or memorabilia gain a level of provenance and DigiClerk find it a selected global audience. The app geo locates the object to identify where it is located. At this level the information is available to anyone using the internet increasing awareness of the object.
antique
The presentation plate in the photograph is located on an antique gramophone (a different type of record!) cupboard. The cupboard was presented to TH Fullalove on his retirement in Johannesburg in 1951. No-one knows this exists. Imagine its value to someone with the surname Fullalove. Upload the image onto DigiClerk and the online world will know that it exists.
memorabilia
Think also of a place, a person or people, a date:
- in a photograph
- engraved on a pewter tankard
- etched onto a glass decanter
- stuck to the back of a painting
- inside the cover of a school prize book
- a posted first day cover
- on presentation furniture
Perhaps only 2% of your stock have a ‘label’ with a name, a date and a location? We can get you more people interested in those ‘labelled’ items and give them extra provenance.
example
Here is a great example of an antique presentation chair in a local antique dealers. The chair is in memory of James Valentine, Head Teacher from 1910 to 1920. The school motto means ‘Ever to Excel’. The motto could be attributed to St Andrew’s University but, because he was a ‘Head Teacher’ more likely a school, ‘Caistor Grammar School’…or is it?!
