This post is about New Zealand stamps and includes some of the planned developments for the DigiClerk Stamp Collection. We are digitising and uploading stamps from an old stamp album, The Tasman Stamp Album of New Zealand. The stamps in the album are all from New Zealand and date back to 1855 and as far forward as 1957.
1940 New Zealand Stamps
These 1940 New Zealand stamps celebrate the centennial of the foundation of New Zealand.
Currently a DigiClerk Member can digitise and upload a page illustrating an expected set of stamps, a set of stamps or an individual stamp.
Once these are uploaded onto DigiClerk we want to help the Member identify and categorise what stamps they have and what sets they belong to. Using machine learning (ML) this shouldn’t be too difficult. In the meantime we will use human brains!
We want Members to be able to drag and drop their digital stamps onto digital sets.
At this stage Members will understand which stamps are missing from their sets and can reach out to other Members with shared interests to see if they have any to trade or sell.
Data policy
Unlike the other social media platforms DigiClerk has no intention of using Members’ data outside of the platform or to use to advertise products and services to them. However, DigiClerk will use Members’ data to guide them to other members, collections and groups that have an interest in the same stamps.
Trading stamps
The platform already requires the Member to state if the stamp is for sale or not. If it is for sale then a sale price must be added. We also want to enable swaps. Using Members’ electronic wallets the platform will allow financial transactions to take place. This electronic wallet functionality is a while off yet.
Collecting a set
See if you can find where these stamps below fit onto the set page above.
