Official listing

< back.

Many parish councils (PC) are being delisted by banks or struggle to open new bank accounts because they do not have certificates of incorporation or the correct online presence. Yet, all parish councils are listed by their respective district councils (DC).  The problem is, that online banks are national, not local, and go by what they can find online.

One day the national government will provide a full, verified list of all parish councils but, until then, this is it.

The list has the following:

  • PC name
  • PC location (google and W3W)
  • PC website address (if available)
  • PC contact email address
  • relevant DC name
  • relevant DC webpage where PC is listed
  • relevant county council (CC) name
  • relevant local association name

In order to use this website a PC must enter the eight items highlighted in red above.  DigiClerk will then contact the DC to confirm the PC.  If the PC is a member of the local association that verification can be obtained too.

Once on the list the PC can use the platform.  We hope that the list will become the recognised national list of PCs.
