The DigiClerk (DC) People Collection provides Members with a software as a service (SaaS) platform.

Upload and manage your own archives and records

Capture records using the DC smart phone app or scan them in directly with a scanner or digital camera. They are uploaded onto the platform and can then be entered by you.
Geolocate your records using the GPS ability on the app
Smart upload their records using artificial intelligence (AI) to pick up the date of death from graveside records and automatically enters that into the correct field for confirmation.
This AI will be expanded across all records and uploading, making the process more checking than entering.
Identify and categorise your records.
Link your records with others
Create your own collections and build working groups and interest groups
Develop a community

We are now in phase 3c of development and will be able to demonstrate the ‘browse’, ‘search’ and ‘view’ functionality in April 2023.

Use cases

A local Saxon church is trying to work out who is buried in the graveyard. There are less than 300 gravestones in the graveyard but evidence of over 3,000 burials. Using the DC app to capture the gravestones (in both the church and parish graveyard) and the platform to digitise burial records, graveyard plans etc DC will be able to ascertain who was buried in the graveyard. This is an ongoing project limited only by manpower.

DC will work with Founder Members to develop the platform to best suit their needs. These are some of the proposed future enhancements:

Use machine learning (ML) to auto populate fields for uploading of stamps where the field entries are repetitive
alert you if a similar record is already loaded
multiple versions of the same record will be allowed but the quality assurance (QA) system will ensure that only the top three rated records are displayed
data protection and compliance. DC will assess the possibility of the person mentioned in the record objecting to the record being on DC and act accordingly.
if a Member is also the data owner of a record there will be an opportunity to share in future revenue
